URBAN NATURE 2020

Urban Nature is a collection of painted constructed environments reflecting on our increasingly artificial and industrial culture. Employing patterns of control and organization, nature is segmented and ordered into practical or aesthetically devised spaces. These visual products of human intervention form a portrait of the urbanized mentality directed to these spaces. However, the fragility of maintaining such spaces suggest the ephemerality of human interventions. Where a building stands tall in one moment, it is overtaken by a flood, fire or new growth. Through this, these spaces reflect their susceptibility to change, all the while bearing the permanent remnants of human activity. Urban Nature is an on going series of shifting environments reflecting on Urban Nature through the ephemerality of human interventions in conflict with the landscape.
